HOSPITALITY students learned about life in a professional kitchen as a head chef dished up dinners.
Pupils from Queensbury School, who are studying for a BTEC in Hospitality, have been working with staff from the Leeds Bradford Holiday Inn all year.

Partnership manager Jenny Almond, from the school, said: "We have forged a partnership with the hotel.

"It has been really good because many of the students have no real experience of working life."

In October the Year 10 and 11 students, who are aged between 14 and 16, visited the hotel and since then they have met staff frequently.

Now head chef Darrell Blenkinsop has visited the school.

As well as cooking two dishes he explained all aspects of his role, including food hygiene, the potential dangers in a kitchen and how chefs design a menu.
