BONUSES will be handed out to Lloyds Bank employees two months earlier than expected.
Bumper pay packets will be received at the end of this month by workers at the Halifax-based bank, rather than in May as was originally predicted.

The banking group, which is 41 per cent owned by the taxpayer, made a £6.3 billion loss last year.

Today a spokesman said March payments would be made to those earning less than £39,000 and whose bonus was less than £2,000.

The average salary of Lloyds staff is £25,000 and it is understood bonus payments to those people will fall below the £2,000 limit, but figures will vary depending on individual performances.

When plans to reward staff with bonus payments were announced last month there was strong public criticism. But union bosses claim the bonuses are part of workers' pay packages and should be given to ordinary staff.

The bank – which was formed when Lloyds RSB took over HBOS in January 2009 – has also recently announced it intends to offer staff a Sharesave scheme in the next few weeks.

Sharesave? How funny! It would be the same as asking now if anyone would like to buy shares in the Titanic! Any takers ?!!

The Courier have got it wrong. The HBOS bonus is always paid in the March pay packet. So where they got the May Bonus from I don't know. HBOS staff do get their annual wage reviews in month of May so they probably got this confused with the bonus pay.

I wonder how much of it will be spent on a 'totally locally' spending spree...

Sharesave lol now that is great oh and the Unions are taking Lloyds to ACAS for a better Pay Deal

Further joint talks took place last week at which the
Union tried to make progress on the pensions, pay and
terms and conditions issues following the members’
consultative ballot last month.
On Pay 2010, the Bank indicated that it intends to
implement the proposals despite the rejection of the offer
by members of Accord and Unite. Therefore, the Union
registered a formal “failure to agree”

#4 & #6 The only thing staff at this so called bank should be collecting is their P45, the quicker this bank exits the town (Scotland here we come) the better.

Not much is life is predictable . . . . . .
except:
(1) Brian Coates got it wrong yet again regarding the bonus, just like last year. (Your snout is letting you down, Mr Coates.) AND
(2) that sad old gat (have I spelled that right?) One Stop (Fiona, a former councillor with a 'troubled' past) is attacking the (former) HBOS employees.
Should any LBG staff read this , just ignore said gat One Stop - he ain't worth replying to. Don't rise to his very sad, out of date, pathetic bait! ;)0
