A WOMAN battered her own dining room window with a stick after her husband locked her out. She only stopped when police threatened to shoot her with a taser gun.
Tracy Michelle Manning, 36, of Grisedale Close, Pellon, Halifax, admitted criminal damage to a £70 window owned by Jephson Homes.
Calderdale magistrates heard Darren Manning locked his wife out after an argument on Friday, August 29.
She left but r
eturned at around 5.30am the next day expecting her husband to have calmed down and unlocked the door.
However, Mr Manning's resolve remained firm and his wife, who was drunk, became angry.
Waseem Raja, prosecuting, said Manning kicked the front door and pulled the letterbox flap off it.
"She then began hitting the dining room window with a large stick, which cracked it.
"She continued even when the police were called and were inside the house."
He added that when officers showed Manning their taser gun she stopped trying to break in. Laurence Walker, for Manning, said the couple had a history of domestic problems and Mr Manning had been provoking his wife.
He said: "She was desperate for a cigarette and he stood inside smoking and blowing smoke at the window.
"She lost her temper, saw red, and started hitting the window."
He said the pair, who are still together, had ordered new glass for the window and planned to mend it themselves.
Magistrates conditionally discharged Manning for 12 months and ordered her to pay £60 costs.
