A MAN assaulted his ex-wife and burgled her house, a court heard.
Michael Keane, 28, of Hunger Hill, Halifax, admitted burglary and assaulting Andrea Keane.

Tamara Pawson, prosecuting, said Keane went to his former wife's home in Spencer Court, Halifax, where she lived with her two children.

An argument started and he left and Ms Keane and the children went out.

When they returned, they found the defendant lying on Ms Keane's bed.

Ms Pawson said: "As she was calling the police, the defendant ran downstairs and pinned her on the stairs with both hands."

She and the children went away for a couple of days. But when she returned she found a camcorder, Nintendo Wii, satnav, digital camera, two rings, a watch and a mobile phone had gone.

Bradford Crown Court heard there was a later confrontation when Keane picked up a large breeze block.

Judge Alistair McCallum sentenced him to six months, suspended for 18 months, with a supervision requirement and a condition to attend West Yorkshire Probation Service.
