HALIFAX Town fans are pressing ahead with plans to form a supporters-owned team – in case a consortium of businessmen cannot save the club.
Fans met last night to discuss the options in the wake of the club's expected liquidation.
And it was agreed the foundations of a supporters club should be laid, even though negotiations continue to save Town.
Gavin Butler, Supporters Trust spokesman, said: "The consensus is that while everything remains up in the air, we should continue planning for a new supporters-owned club."
The trust has lodged a statement of intent with the FA to create a new club.
The deadline for registrations in the Northern Premier League Division One is June 14.
