A DISPLAY of alpine plants reaped rewards for a Heptonstall nursery at a prestigious flower show.
Slack Top Nursery and Gardens scooped a Silver Gilt medal at the Royal Horticultural Society's Tatton Park contest for the colourful 10ft x 10ft entry.
It was the first time the village nursery exhibited at the event and owner Michael Mitchell said: "To win a silver gilt is a fantastic accolade as an RHS medal really sets the standard.
"My wife Allison and I work really hard to show people new and exciting ways to use alpines as the vast majority are very easy garden plants.
"We'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has encouraged us and came to see us at the show," he said.
Mr Mitchell said it had been an enormous challenge to grow enough plants for the show and keep them in top condition with the recent varying weather.
