A DERELICT pub may finally be given a new lease of life.
The New Inn, at Boothtown Road, Boothtown, Halifax, has been empty for almost a year.

But Fogarty Property, of Bradford, wants to transform the rundown pub into two houses with parking and gardens.

A decision is expected from Calderdale Council planning committee before June 3.

The council recently refused permission to transform the venue into a plumber's merchants, office and store.

Officers refused the plans because it was unrelated to the established pattern of shopping centres in the district.

In 2007 a previous application was appr-oved for the pub to be changed into a shop, office and flats.
