TICKETS are now on sale for the Courier's very first literary lunch – Meet The Authors.
The event, on May 22, is being staged in association with Finn Gledhill Solicitors, which has offices in Halifax and Hebden Bridge.
It will bring together a TV weatherman, the creator of two of our best-loved fictional detectives and an authority
on the 1960s pop music scene in Halifax.
Our guests will be Paul Hudson, a familiar face to viewers of BBC's Look North, novelist Marion Chesney, aka M C Beaton, author of the bestselling Agatha Raisin and Hamish Macbeth books and Calderdale's own Trevor Simpson, author of the hugely successful Small Town Saturday Night.
We're now offering a chance for Courier readers and book-lovers to meet all three authors and hear anecdotes about their careers.
Meet The Authors will be held at Berties Banqueting Rooms, Elland and includes a three-course lunch.
Tickets are £23.50 each or £210 for a table of 10. They are on sale at the Courier, King Cross Street, Halifax; Brighouse Echo, West Park Street; Todmorden News, Fielden Square; and Hebden Bridge Times, Crown Street.
Bookings can be made by ringing the Courier with credit or debit card details 01422 260358.It's turned out nice again for TV's Paul - click here to read Virginia Mason's featureMarion Chesney - one of our favourite detective writers The Swinging Sixties are on their way to our literary lunch
