The 79-year-old secretary of a working men's club was thrown to the floor by masked robbers who burst in and stole cash.
Brian Tunaley suffered bruising in the raid at Thornhill Briggs club in Old Lane, Waring Green, Brighouse at about 9.30am on Monday.

A 22-year-old cleaner was left traumatised by the ordeal at the hands of two men wielding an iron bar and a hammer.

They escaped - along with their get-away driver - in a dark-coloured car and headed along Thornhill Bridge Lane towards Waring Green.

The suspects are white, between 5ft 8ins and 6ft tall and slim. Anyone with information should contact Halifax CID on 01422 337085.

Dirty scum who prefer terrorising old folks instead of going out and earing a decent living like the rest of us. Tis a disgusting state of affairs the number of robberies like this that we are seeing in the papers these days. Mr Home Secretary - sort it out and get some cops back on the streets.

I expect they will be caught, put on trial, the old guy will have to re-live the experience as a witness, found guilty and then given 50hours unpaid work and set free...

What do you think will be worse for these victims - to have this happen to them or inevitably to be let down by the police/courts?
