THIEVES made off with hundreds of pounds worth of equipment from a youth club.
Dozens of youngsters have lost out because of the raid at Mytholmroyd Youth Club, which meets at the community centre in Caldene Avenue.
A music system and speakers were stolen, along with an X-box and several cameras. The only thing not stolen was a pool table.
Centre manager Andrew Marsden said: "What kind of people steal from children? It's really mindless to do something like that.
"It's the children who lose out. The thieves have taken everything the children have to entertain them."
He added: "The youth club was only finished in September and a lot of money was spent on it. Now it looks like new funding will have to be found or the children will have to do some fund-raising to replace what's been taken."
The burglary was discovered on Wednesday morning but Mr Marsden believes it happened on Monday night.
The raiders got in by removing a panel in a door after first trying to use a gate as a ladder to climb through a window.
The gate was stolen from a play area used by Mytholmroyd play group, which is based in another part of the community centre.
Staff discovered the gate missing on Tuesday when they returned after the Bank Holiday.
Police are investigating.
