CALDERDALE rail services will be badly affected when work begins later this month on Bradford Interchange.
The station will be closed on October 12 and 19, and for nine days from October 25 to November 2.

It will mean trains on the Leeds to Manchester route will operate between Halifax and Manchester Victoria only. A bus service will run between Leeds and Halifax calling at Bramley, New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange and Halifax.

The York to Blackpool service will operate normally between York and Leeds and Halifax and Blackpool. Between Leeds and Halifax trains will operate via Dewsbury calling at Brighouse.

The Selby to Leeds route will operate in two parts – from Selby to Leeds and from Huddersfield to Wakefield Westgate.

A bus service will run between Leeds and Huddersfield calling at Bramley, New Pudsey, Bradford Interchange, Halifax, Brighouse and Huddersfield.

What about all these people who have spent over £100 for there montly train fare, they wont even be getting the service they have paid for. Driving will be a nightmare and will cost a fortune in parking and petrol. Times like this people cant afford to be wasting money. I understand that a job obviously needs to be done, but why not do it on a night time like some road workers do or why not tell people in advance rather than a week before its about to happen. Our rail service is and will always be inconsiderate to the public.

With the people with the passes, cant they go to Blackpool for the day or Manchester Shopping instead?

Miss Sunshine, surely those who have got a monthly ticket will be able to use the buses????

Little Miss Sunshine: Even if trains were running they still wouldn't be up to the £100 p/m fares you have to pay. Standing room only, kids throwing stones at windows and trains and stations from the dark ages because we're not on the "transpennine" line anymore. Surely it's no surprise that this is the result?

Even Scotland's on the Transpennine Line - Edinburgh and Glasgow get services. That is more than can be said for Halifax and Calderdale....

the temporary closure has been well advertised for a long time now.

Just look at the stations concerned and you will see that dates, that the posters, which are advising about the closure, have printed on them.

You cabn still make journeys to leeds with any problems.

Rail track have been working at night to do these alteration, but there comes a point when they have to remove some track, which makes it difficult for trains to run without, and replace it with the new.
