THREE children were injured when two buses crashed at a school on Monday night.
Police are investigating the collision outside Ryburn Valley High School, which left several other youngsters in shock.
The accident happened as pupils were heading home at teatime.
Bus company First have suspended a driver while a full investigation is carried out.
Ryburn Valley headteacher Honor Byford said: "There was a huge bang that could be heard inside school.
"When we got out, a double decker had crashed with a single decker.
"Some children were shocked by the impact but they all behaved excellently. It's down to them – and the staff – that this wasn't a more serious incident."
Both buses belong to First. Police took the double decker – a school service bus – away for examination.
A First spokesman said: "Luckily only three children were hurt but First is determined to find out exactly what happened."
