School lands gold arts award

A PRIMARY school has been recognised for its commitment to the arts.
Salterlee Primary School, Shibden, Halifax, received the Arts Mark Award (gold) from the Arts Council of England.
To gain the award the school proved its commitment and enthusiam for music, dance, drama, and art.
"It is a prestigious award and we are all thrilled," said teacher Ruth Shackleton.
"The staff and pupils have worked hard over three years to achieve the award."
It was presented at Leeds playhouse to Mrs Shackleton, her colleague Abigail Wood, and pupils Antonia Langan and Zachary Smith.
