A 39-year-old man accused of the false imprisonment and kidnap of Shannon Matthews, nine, was having his first crown court hearing today.
Shannon disappeared on February 19 and was found less than a mile from her home in Dewsbury Moor 24 days later.
Michael Donovan, the uncle of Shannon's stepfather, Craig Meehan, was arrested after she was found in Batley Carr.
He will appear at Leeds Crown Court via a video link from Armley prison.
