VISITORS are getting a sneak look at a historic hall's multi-million pound makeover.
Guided tours are being run at Shibden Hall in Halifax to unveil how the restoration project, due to finish in July, is going.

The work includes a new visitor centre and cafe, boat house and play area.

Gardens and orchards are being restored to their 19th century glory and a secret tunnel used to shield aristocrats from the view of their servants has been uncovered.

Shibden Hall estate and hall manager Deborah Comyn-Platt said: "When the work is finished there will be a lot more to see."

The £6 million renovation has been part-funded by a £4 million lottery grant.
