Shotgun drama: 2 in court

TWO men have app-eared in court charged with firearms offences.
Paul Anthony James Murphy, 35, from Bridge End, Rastrick, and Sean Raymond Harper, 35, of Whin-ney Hill Park, Brighouse, were charged with possessing a shotgun at Calderdale Magistrates Court. Murphy is also accused of possessing a six-inch knife.

The pair were re-manded in custody until Friday when they will appear at Bradford Crown Court.

The men were arrested after police were called to the Royal Oak pub at Elland on Thurs-day. Officers tailed a Land Rover and stop-ped it outside the Black Swan, Brighouse.


  • A third man is due to appear at Calderdale Magistrates Court today charged with possessing a firearm.
