TWO 14-year-olds have been locked up following a spate of mobile phone robberies.
One admitted two robberies and was given a 12-month detention and training order while the other admitted one robbery and received a four-month order.

Bradford Crown Court heard that the pair were prolific young offenders and committed the offence
s in April.

Richard Davies, prosecuting, said theyr targeted a 14-year-old boy at Woolshops, Halifax, and ordered the victim to walk down the street and out of sight of passers-by.

Mr Davies said: "One of the boys jabbed a knife into his back and said, 'Give me your stuff – don't look at my face or I will kill you'."

The victim handed over £3 and a mobile phone worth £450.

On April 22, the boys struck again and this time followed a 16-year-old into the Piece Hall, Halifax, before one of them demanded his mobile phone.

The third offence occurred outside Calderdale Magis-trates' Court, Halifax, on April 23.

Mr Davies said a 15-year-old boy was targeted and robbed of his phone, worth £200.

Judge Roger Scott warned the first boy: "You are likely to be going to custody for a very long time in the future because somebody will lock you up as a dangerous prisoner."

He told the second boy: "You are a persistent young offender."
