The finishing touch to Halifax town-centre mansion...

THE finishing touches are being put to the exterior of Halifax's once hidden gem, Somerset House.
Ornate railings have been fitted to the courtyard in Rawson Street, making it safe for outdoor events.
Much of the impressive interior has already been restored by developer Chris Turczak and, if everything goes according to plan, the building could begin to be used later this month for wedding ceremonies.
More than £2 million is being spent on the Georgian mansion, which was hidden for years behind a row of single-storey shops.
Calderdale Council hopes it will eventually replace Halifax Register Office and become the primary location for marriages, civil partnerships and other celebratory ceremonies.
Somerset House dates from the 1700s and has been restored with the help of a grant from Yorkshire Forward as part of the Halifax Renaissance project.
Other parts of the building will contain shops, a cafe, offices and apartments.
