HALIFAX Town Centre Ambassadors will walk 25 miles to raise money to help keep the town centre safe.
Lizzie Crofts and colleague Diana Waugh are taking part in the Community Foundation for Calderdale's South Pennine Challenge.
Some of the cash raised will go towards the ambassadors scheme which aims to reassure town centre visitors, offer directions and tourist information and help with events.
One of their most important tasks is reporting issues such as graffiti, damaged phone boxes, broken paving and excess litter.
Lizzie said: "As an ambassador I patrol the streets of Halifax and aim to help everyone using the town centre.
"During the six years that the ambassadors have been in existence, crime and the fear of crime has dropped significantly.
"We need money for funding and if we can raise cash for local charities at the same time then it is definitely a worthwhile cause."
The South Pennine Challenge takes place tomorrow. Entrants can choose between four different routes.
The 24-hour, 50-mile Maxi Challenge will begin at Mytholmroyd Community Centre at 7am.
The 25-mile Midi Challenge begins at 7.30am at the community centre, and the 12-mile Mini Challenge will leave there at 8am and end at the White House pub.
After that, the six-mile Gower Family Challenge will begin at 9am and end at Baitings Dam.
Money raised by the event will boost the foundation's grants programme. It will also be distributed to chosen charities.
There will also be a bonus for the first team or person to raise £10,000 – a holiday to Barbados.
