Two in court after Huddersfield girl, 2, dies in hospital

THE death of a two-year-old girl in hospital has sparked a major police inquiry.
A 20-year-old man and a 21-year-old woman, from the Sheepridge area of Huddersfield, have been charged with causing grevious bodily harm to a child and neglect.

They were appearing at Huddersfield Magistrates Court today.

The two-year-old girl, who is believed to have suffered a large number of injuries, died in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary on Thursday.

Police were called to the hospital by medical staff at about 11.30pm.
