West Yorkshire Police seize £1m from drug dealers

West Yorkshire drug dealers have had more than £1million seized from them.
Four Calderdale men have been named in the rogues gallery released by West Yorkshire Police today.
In the last 12 months, specialist financial investigators from the Economic Crime Unit, part of the force's crime division, have gone through the finances of 14 convicted drugs criminals with a fine-toothed comb and, in conjunction with criminal justice partner agencies, secured confiscation orders worth £1,155,561 using the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002.
Detective Chief Superintendent Max Mclean, head of West Yorkshire Police's Crime Division, said: "Our message to those who think they can profit from crime in West Yorkshire and get away with it is clear. We will not only investigate your criminal activity and put you before the courts, we will also use the latest legislation to strip you of the ill-gotten gains you've generated from those crimes."
Those from Calderdale include Ajmal Aziz, 26, from Halifax. He was convicted of drug trafficking and money laundering offences and jailed for seven years. Police seized more than £65, 500 from him.
Amjad Hussain, 25, from Halifax, was sentenced to three years and two months after being convicted of drug trafficking and money laundering. £239,000 was seized from him
Police took £123,330 from Sajid Aziz, 31, of Halifax, after he was jailed for seven years - reduced to six on appeal - for the same offences.
And Richard Pype, formerly of Greetland, Halifax, was ordered to hand back £46,228 after being convicted of producing cannabis. He was given 200 hours unpaid work.
The others in west Yorkshire were:
Andrew George Jenkins, 49, from Pontefract.
Convicted of possessing cannabis with intent to supply and money laundering.
12 months suspended for two years. £14, 304.66 seized.
Brian Henry Parker, 41, from Eccleshill, Bradford
Convicted of drug trafficking and money laundering offences. Jailed for six years. £121,640.95 seized.
Sajid Mohammed, 29, of Burley, Leeds.
Convicted of conspiracy to supply controlled drugs. Jailed for eight years. £392,314.43 seized.
Michele Tarantino, 32, of Leeds.
Convicted of possessing cocaine with intent to supply. Jailed for 30 months. £24,500 seized.
Shahik MIAH, 28, of Keighley.
Convicted of possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply and money laundering. Jailed for two years. £33,387.80 seized.
Nassar Mukhtar Ahmed, 29, of Batley.
Convicted of possessing heroin and crack cocaine with intent to supply. Jailed for 24 months. £22,510.37 seized.
Michael Bernard Gledhill, 38, of Laisterdyke, Bradford.
Convicted of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. Jailed for 18 months. £17,199.30 seized.
Kim Ahn Diep, 27, of Lupset, Wakefield.
Convicted of production of cannabis. Jailed for four years. £7,053.79 seized.
Patrick Trevor Davis, 40, of Buttershaw, Bradford.
Convicted of possessing amphetamine with intent to supply. Jailed for 12 months. £18,581.15 seized.
Nigel John Ward, 42, of Pudsey, Leeds.
Convicted of possessing cocaine, ecstasy and amphetamine with intent to supply. Jailed for 78 months. £30,000 seized.
