POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner was killed by a quad bike on King Cross Street, Halifax.
The bike spun out of control after a collision with a taxi at around 1.55pm yesterday afternoon, hitting the 75-year-old woman who was standing on the footpath.

It had been travelling up King Cross Street from Halifax when it was in collision with the silver Ford Mondeo taxi which was about to turn right into Regent Street.

Both the pedestrian and the quad bike rider were taken to Calderdale Royal Hospital where the bike rider is believed to be in a stable condition.

Witnesses to the incident are asked to contact PC 137 Goode at Calderdale Roads Policing on 01422 337236.
