POLICE want to learn about the concerns of residents at a series of ward meetings.
Inspector Milly Wheelwright said: "The purpose of these meetings is for the general public to voice their concerns about the area where they live and what they want their police to concentrate on."
The dates are: Tuesday July 8, 7.30 pm, Elland Cricket Club (Elland, Greetland and Stainland).
Wednesday July 9, 7.30 pm, The Cliffe Hall Club, Cliffe Road, Brighouse (Rastrick).
Thursday July 10, 7.30 pm at the Lightcliffe Club, Wakefield Road, (Hipperholme, Lightcliffe and Bailiff Bridge).
Thursday July 31, 7.30 pm, The Black Horse Inn, Clifton (Brighouse).

Seems reasonable. Hopefully people will attend, and NOT just the usual moaners. Maybe then we will get the local policing that we deserve.

good to hear that we can have a contrabutary say on our local policing, but the trouble is no matter how good our policing system is, it's when they get to court and get handed pathetic fines or sentences by the magistraites or judges. perhaps the next option will be that we can have our say on the court services, but then again, i won't be holding my breath.
