PLENTY of effort was made to get the motors of Mytholmroyd shining and glistening in the sun at a charity car wash.
Mytholmroyd fire station was transformed to a car wash for the morning to raise money for The Firefighters’ Charity. Crews from the retained station washed more than 200 cars during their four-and-a-half hour stint.
Firefighter Andrew Ball said it had been a great day.
“We didn’t really stop. People were bringing their cars in all day, we were washing up to eight at a time.
“The weather was ideal”.
They added to their total by selling yellow hats for children and signed plenty of people up for home safety checks.
