FIVE generations came together to celebrate the 90th birthday of Annie Bottomley.
She was surrounded by dozens of relatives at the home of her daughter, Anne Heppinstall, in Adgil Crescent, Southowram.
Mrs Bottomley, of Beechwood, Sowerby, and her late husband, Edwin, had two children David and Anne.
Next came seven grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild – Harvey Heptinstall, aged two.
Mrs Heppinstall said it was a thrill for the whole family to be united together on her mother’s special day. “It was the first time we have all been together – and it will be the last at my house!” she joked.
Mrs Bottomley was born in Brighouse and later moved to Sowerby. She worked in Sowerby Bridge as a binder at John Atkinson’s and as a sewer at Scanda Sports.
Gardening and knitting were her hobbies and she still looks forward to holidays and shopping trips with Mrs Heppinstall.
The celebrations continued the following day with an even bigger party at the Tower House Hotel, Halifax.
