A MAN has appeared in court charged with three counts of rape.

Paul Seed, 34, of Clough Lane, Mixenden, is also alleged to have sexually assaulted the same woman on August 1.

In total he faces five charges, three of rape and two of assault by penetration.

Wearing a white jumper, Seed appeared in the dock at Calderdale Magistrates’ Court.

His family were in court to hear Seed’s bail application.

His mother had to leave court while prosecutor Lisa Beadle read out the graphic details of the offences.

Seed, a self-employed mechanic, was given bail with stringent conditions by magistrates. He was warned if he breaches any of the conditions he will be brought back to court.

He will next appear at Bradford Crown Court on August 11.
