Drivers are being urged to take care on the roads as the remnants of Hurricane Katia hit Britain.
Strong winds above 60mph are barracking our region and the high motorways require particular care.
The Highways Agency has warned about the M62 from J23 to J25 where gusts of up to 80mph are expected.
It warns drivers of high-sided vehicles, caravans and motorcyclists to check the weather before they leave and exercise care on the roads.
Highways Agency Traffic Officers are monitoring weather and traffic conditions and are ready to respond to any incidents as well as using electronic message signs to warn and advise drivers of conditions. Road users are advised to plan for their journeys before setting out, checking the forecast, road conditions and leaving extra time if travel conditions are poor or to delay their journeys if the weather becomes severe.
