A Yorkshire author and educator will entertain an audience at Trinity Academy in a charity fundraising evening.

Rotherham born and bred and patron of Together for Looked-after Children (TLC), Gervase Phinn will amuse and eludicate at the Academy, Shay Lane, Halifax, on October 25.

The children’s literary author is performing to raise funds for TLC - a Calderdale-based charity; providing additional support to looked-after children.

TLC trustee and MP Craig Whittaker said: “TLC was launched to make a difference to the social and educational development of looked-after young people in Calderdale to help them go on to achieve employment and independence after a difficult start in life.”

The charity, in its third year, provides an Enrichment Fund: financial support for additional needs such as equipment for apprenticeships, one-to-one tuition, educational visits or training.

Children or carers can appy for grants on TLC’s website.
