AN interior designer is overjoyed after her house won an ITV daytime show.
Emma Gordon’s victorian town house in Stafford Place, Halifax, was one of the homes put under the judgemental eye of fellow contestants on ITV’s “May the Best House Win”.
Emma, who runs Eyecandy interior design company, appeared with three contestants from the Leeds area.
They had four house visits over two days. The contestants were taken by taxi to each house and each home owner gave a brief history of their housebefore leaving the other contestants to nosy round her home before marking it out of 10.
Emma received 22 marks out of 30 from her fellow contestants Alex, Zena and Orlando.
Emma, 37, who won £1,000, was nervous before the airing and shocked when she won. Her fellow contestants, despite some harsh words about each other, admitted the best house had won.
Emma has stayed in touch with contestant Alex.
“When we went round the comments seemed really positive but when you hear what people have said behind closed doors, it’s completely different,” said Emma, who spent £80,000 restoring their 15-room, four-floor home.
“There were some catty comments though,” she said.
The family spent the money on a summer holiday and some pieces for their home.
