Another day . . . and another burst!

Boothtown Road is again flooded after another water burst - the second in two days.

Yorkshire Water were on site doing repairs yesterday after the road at Boothtown, Halifax, resembled a river.

Then, at 1.23am today there was another burst and a repeat of the problem leaving many properties without supplies.

Dee Weaver, of Boothtown Road, shared her photographs showing the flooded road with Courier readers.

She said today’s burst was about 15 yards uphill from yesterday.

“The road has heaved up on one side and collapsed on the other,” she said.

“The corner shop is flooding, so they’re building a dam with rubble from the hole Yorkshire Water dug to repair the earlier burst.”

The road is currently closed.

Matthew Nuttall sent the bottom three photographs of the roadworks and the flowing water.

He said: “All we need is a load of sand and it will be like being at the beach.”

Calderdale Council expect the roadworks to be cleared by Monday July 22.
