Appeal after hit and run in Halifax

Police are appealing for witnesses after a hit and run in Halifax.

Last Thursday at around 9.45am a woman crossing Skircoat Road at the junction with Oxford Road near Halifax Swimming Pool was hit by a vehicle.

A passing motorists assisted the pedestrian who was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary with her injuries which were not thought to be serious.

The vehicle is described as a blue saloon and is thought to have initially stopped before speeding off in the direction of Halifax Town Centre.

Police wish to speak to anybody that witnessed the incident including the good Samaritan that stopped.
