Armed robbers threaten staff at bookmakers in Sowerby Bridge

Armed robbers have threatened staff and escaped with cash from a bookmakers in Sowerby Bridge.

Two men armed with machetes escaped with £200 in cash from Coral bookmakers in Town Hall Street on Thursday night at 9.20pm.

The first is described as a white male in his early 20s. He is around 5ft 7ins and of a medium build. He was wearing a dark hooded type top and a black balaclava.

The second, a white male aged in his early 20’s and around 5ft 11ins. He is of a medium build and was wearing dark coloured tracksuit bottoms.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Hollins Mill Lane area or at the Firehouse pub at the time of the incident and may have seen someone acting suspiciously.
