A portrait of Margaret Thatcher made of coal dust was the winning entry at a national art event at the UK Artworks Gallery in Halifax.

Britain’s Got Artists was won by Nathan Wyburn from Cardiff, pictured with MP George Galloway, one of the judges at the exhibition.

Alison Dunn, from the gallery, said: “The standard of entries was terrific and judging was tough.”
