Attackers are floored

VIOLENT yobs who attacked a man found themselves on the ground when their brave victim fought back.

The gang of three – all aged around 19 and 20 – ambushed the 50-year-old as he was walking along Natty Lane in Illingworth, Halifax.

One punched him in the head and the other two tried to drag him to the floor.

But the man fought back and, although they kept trying to punch him, he managed to wrestle two of the gang to the floor.

The third attacker ran off.

The victim suffered a broken hand, bruising to his forehead and a graze on his nose.

Police are hunting the culprits and are appealing for anyone who knows who they are or saw the attack to get in touch.

The one who ran away was described as white, skinny, with cropped ginger hair.

He is 5ft 8ins tall and pale, and was wearing a dark hooded jumper, dark jeans and dark trainers or shoes.

The second suspect was described as 5ft 9ins tall, average build, with long, scruffy dark brown hair.

He was wearing a dark blue tracksuit with a white pattern on the front, dark blue jeans and white trainers.

The third was described as around 5ft 8ins tall, medium build, with very dark, short hair.

He was wearing a dark jacket with a zip on it, dark jeans and black footwear.

Police believe the two men grappled to the floor by the victim will have suffered injuries.
