A POPULAR children’s author paid a visit to pupils at The Gleddings.

Robin Price came all the way from Bedfordshire to spend the day with children at the school in Birdcage Lane, Savile Park, Halifax.

Younger children were treated to tales from his Roobarb and Custard and Spartapuss books.

Year five and six pupils focused on his science fiction graphic novel-style books, London Deep and Father Thames.

Mr Price led four creative writing workshops with all the pupils and signed books for them.

His visit came ahead of World Book Day yesterday.

Head teacher Elizabeth Berry said: “The children really enjoyed it and they got a lot out of it.

“The older children especially enjoyed the science fiction writing.”
