A children’s charity is hosting a ball in Elland to celebrate its first birthday.
Ruddi’s Retreat is a West Yorkshire-based charity which provides holidays for children and their families affected by cancer, life-threatening illness or bereavement.
The charity was set up by Ali Jones, of Linthwaite, after her son Ruddi was diagnosed with cancer. He has now been in remission for four years.
To commemorate their first year, they will host a glamorous black-tie and diamands ball at Bertie’s in Elland on March 1, featuring a Peter Kay tribute act, Lee Lard, party games and a disco until late. There will also be a raffle and acution with prizes including a week’s holiday in France for two.
Lorraine Lakey, trustee of Ruddi’s Retreat, said: “Our aim is to spread the word of Ruddi’s Retreat, keep families in holiday homes and make memories.”
