A band who played in front of 19 people at a Sowerby Bridge pub last year have won the Mercury Prize.

Indie rock group Alt-J scooped the prestigious award for their debut album An Awesome Wave.

The band played the Puzzle Hall Inn in Sowerby Bridge a year ago to 19 people.

Alt-J thanked their parents for helping them to win the £20,000 prize.
