WILLS and Kate’s big do is having an impact on servcies across Calderdale.
Today’s bank holiday will see closures and changes to services with a repeat on Monday for the May Day break.
Waste collections are already a day behind after the Easter and there will be no collections on Monday May 2.
Th is means the bin men will be out the day after your usual collection day meaning that all that Royal Wedding bunting won’t be filling your bin for too long.
All household recycling centres will be closed on Monday May 2 but will be open as usual for the rest of the weekend.
There will be changes to buses and train services so you may need to check the timetables of you’re planning to get away and escape Royal Wedding fever.
A Sunday service is in operation on all bus services with the 501, 503 and 576 working to their improved Sunday timetables which come into force on May 1.
Over the weekend disruption shouldn’t be a problem with all buses running to their normal schedules on Saturday and Sunday.
On Bank Holiday Monday there will be a Sunday service across all the bus timetables.
Meanwhile the trains will be running to a normal Friday timetable today with off-peak fares and concessions in place all day.
The status quo continues with a normal train service throughout Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday.
Calderdale’s libraries will be closed today and on Monday with a return to normal opening on Tuesday.
Fitness fanatics can still stay in shape despite the Royal Wedding although opening times will be affected at sports centres across Calderdale.
Halifax Swimming Pool will open from 7am to 2pm today and on Monday returning to normal hours on Tuesday.
These opening times will also apply to Elland Swimming Pool, Brighouse Pool and Fitness Centre, Sowerby Bridge Swimming Pool and Todmorden Sports Centre.
North Bridge Leisure Centre opens its doors at 7am and closes again at 4pm today and on Monday.
However The Ridings Sports Centre which will be closed all today and Monday.
Seven chemists will be open today throughout our region.
They are ASDA, Thrum Hall, open from 9am to 6pm; Boots, Market St, Halifax, 10am to 4pm; Calderdale Health Focus, King Cross, 9am to 8pm; Sainsbury’s, Wade St, 8am to 10pm; Boots, Keighley Rd, Ovenden, 10am to 4pm; Ryburn Pharmacy, Elland, 4pm to 5pm; Boots, Crown St, Hebden Bridge, 10am to 4pm.
On Monday the following chemists will be available:
