Detectives investigating the murder of Jordan Stapleton, 21, at his home on Beckhill Chase, Leeds have released the 999 call that initially reported the incident and are urging the caller to get back in touch.
Police received the call from a public telephone box on Stainbeck Road, near to the crossroads with Stainbeck Lane, at 11.46pm on Tuesday (16/4) night. The male caller, who refused to give his name, said that he believed he had heard a gun shot on Beckhill Chase as he walked down a nearby alleyway. After the anonymous caller gave the address of 16 Beckhill Chase as the likely origin of the gunshot he is heard to hang up.
Detectives believe the phone call holds the key to the investigation and have released its contents in full in a bid to trace the caller, who they believe may hold crucial evidence.
