A GIRL who battled meningitis when she was a toddler has used pedal power to help others with the disease.
Bethany Leedham, from Skircoat in Halifax, cycled 50 miles with her dad Ian in aid of The Meningitis Trust.
The Brighouse High School student, who is now 12, spent three weeks in hospital when she was two recovering from meningitis. She and her dad cycled from Halifax to Hollingworth Lake in Littleborough, round the lake twice, and home again.
“I am so amazed that I did it,” she said. Bethany is the great granddaughter of the late Cyril Sands - a well known cyclist with Halifax CTC. To sponsor her visit www.justgiving.com/Bethany-Leedham.
