Bid for Stainland to get its own council

Stainland could be about to get its town parish council.

Former Halifax Town Centre Ambassador Paul Bellinger is one of the people leading the bid to start a council for the village and the surrounding area.

He said: “We are in the very early stages of exlploring the possibilities but feel we would benefit from having our own parish council as we seem to be a community that tends to be forgotten at times.”

Residents are being invited to a meeting to discuss the idea at St Andrew’s Parish Church on Stainland Road at 7.30pm on Tuesday, February 12. For more information call Paul Bellenger on 07801 867891.
