The second Comedy Festival cracks the gags from October 21 when the brilliant Jimmy Carr walks onto the Victoria Theatre stage and over the next week as many as 30 acts will have performed at eight venues across town putting a great big smile on everyone’s faces before the dark nights are on us.

The organisers have done such a brilliant job bringing headline acts to town we thought we’d make it easy our readers to see what’s happening with this special graphic that details each act, each venue, timings and cost.

Among the big names coming to town are Russell Kane, Pub Landlord Al Murray with his no-nonsense brand of humour, man of the moment Romesh Ranganathan (Sold Out), Andrew Lawrence and James Acaster.

The annual event was launched at the end of September at the Victoria Theatre when Australian comedian Adam Hills brough the house down with his “Clown Heart” show in front of a packed house. That set the bar for what should be a memorable week.

Festival director Tim Fagan said: “Our line-up features international talents; established and ascending British stars and much-loved favourites from the local comedy circuit. The town is full of stunning historic and contemporary venues.

“I’d encourage everyone to delve into our full programme and make the most of the abundance of comedy gems descending on the town.”
