A BODY has been found on hilly moorland, two days after an earlier crash.
Police were called to Booth Wood Reservoir in Rishworth yesterday after reports a body had been found in the water.
A body could be seen on the hillside at the edge of a ravine leading down to the reservoir.
It is believed police think the discovery could be linked to an accident on the M62 in that area on Wednesday.
Someone from inside the car could not be found after the accident.
Police vans and cars were parked on the hard shoulder just after junction 22 on the eastbound stretch of the motorway. Officers were positioned at two points on the hilly moorland.
A lane of the motorway was closed, with tailbacks of five miles while investigations went on.
Local residents say police arrived around noon.
Officers were moving onlookers parked in layby's opposite the discovery on the A58.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police sadi: "Officers carrying out inquiries to locate a missing person following a road traffic collision on January 12 on the M62, located a body in the reservoir near to the motorway yesterday morning.
