Today is the 20th anniversary of the accident at Bolton Brow in which six people were killed.
This morning Bolton Brow Primary Academy dedicated its assembly to the memory of the incident. The event at the time left six pupils at Bolton Brow without a mum.
The school’s council laid flowers at the memorial plaque in the school garden.
Those dead were named as Mrs Angela Rooke, aged 28, of Park Road, Sowerby Bridge, 32-year-old Mrs Ann Crossley, of Clifton Street, Sowerby Bridge, and her two-year-old daughter Karen, Ms Beryl Rose, aged 46, of West Parade, Sowerby Bridge, HGV driver Mr Derek Waterworth, aged 63, of Silverhill Road, Bradford, and BT van driver Mr Peter Stott, aged 42, of Woodroyd Crescent, Luddenden Foot.
They were killed when a lorry and van ploughed into a newsagent’s and two terraced houses on Pye Nest Road.
