The tale of three mums from Calderdale taking on Westminster was launched with a celebration evening at Hebden Bridge Town Hall.
The Mummyfesto, by Linda Green, tells the story of the mothers from Hebden Bridge who, after successfully campaigning to save the job of a lollipop lady, decide to set up a new political party and stand in the general election.
Linda, who lives in Warley, said the idea for the book came to her during the 2010 general election campaign when she noticed a lack of women’s voices and issues.
The book is filled with references to Calderdale, including Eureka and North Bridge Leisure Centre.
She is inviting Courier readers to vote on what they’d like to see in a Mummyfesto by visiting her website at www.linda-green.com.
