CHILDREN had a ball in Greetland for a fun day in the name of charity.

Kidzville play gym in West Vale held a family fun day where children enjoyed face painting, a bouncy castle and tombola.

The event was organised by grateful mum Paula Shaw who wanted to thank Calderdale Royal Hopsital’s assisted conception unit.

The 33-year-old and her husband Chris had their son Harry, now three, through IVF treatment at the Halifax hospital after years of trying for a baby.

The fun day also raised money for the West Yorkshire Forget Me Not Trust.

Mrs Shaw said: “I’m so grateful for Harry.

“If it wasn’t for all the help from the team at the trsut, he wouldn’t be here and, for us, he is a little miracle.

“A lot of people don’t like to talk about IVF but it has been everything to us and we wanted to support it so other families like us can be helped to have their babies.”
