Bowls: Hosts in driving seat
THE Halifax-Huddersfield Union will be looking to wrap up a victory over St Anne's Old Links Golf Club at Meltham on Sunday.
The long-running fixture against the west coast club comprises away and home fixtures at the start and end of the season.
Halifax-Huddersfield, whose team is made up of past and present Union players or officials, had an 18-6 success at St Anne's in April and will be confident of retaining the silver tankard.
They will have four home club players in their ranks at Meltham, which provides the current Union president in Philip Walton.
After foursomes in the morning, the match switches to a fourball format.
