Two sisters who run a Brighouse cafe donned purple outfits for a fundraising day and were supported by friends and family.

Kayley ‘n’ Den’s, Bradford Road, run by Kayley and Deni Drake, held the “purple pledge day” to raise funds for Young Epilepsy.

The annual purple day aims to raise funds and raise epilepsy awareness.

The sisters’ served purple buns and sourced raffle prizes from local businesses.

They said they got the idea to become involved after supporting the charity through a competition run by River Island in Halifax.

The charity provides t-shirts and ideas to those wishing to support the fundraising day.

Kayley said they wanted to help the charity as they know two people who suffer from the illness.

“It was the first time we had done anything like this and we had a really good day,” she said.
