Music, art, comedy, poetry, literature and even a celebration of jigsaws are in store for the very first Brighiuse Arts Festival.
From Thursday, August 23, venues across the town will be hosting a line-up full to the brim of performances, exhibitions and workshops.
The festival will include the display of works by David Hockney in Brighouse for the first time at Harrison Lord Gallery, brought to the town from Dean Clough Mill’s permanent collection until August 31.
Comedian and poet Ian Mcmillan will be performing with his orchestra at Brighouse Central Methodist Church on Friday, August 24 at 7.30pm while singer-songwriter Roger Davis will be in concert with Hade Edge Band at St Martin’s Parish Chirch on Thursday, August 30 at 7.30pm.
Other events include a charity jigsaw weekend, shows from jazz,classical and barbershop groups, family fun days, the Totally Locally food and craft market, children’s activities and creative workshops.
