Brighouse Town 2010/11 fixtures: Town to start with three home games

BRIGHOUSE Town will start life in the NCE Premier Division with three home games.

Pickering Town will visit St Giles Road on opening day - August 7 - before Mark Brier's side entertain Lincoln Moorlands Railway and last season's champions Bridlington Town.

With a home FA Cup extra preliminary round tie against Dunston UTS thrown in, it means Brighouse play four successive games on home soil before the first away day - at Maltby Main on August 28.

Brighouse look likely to lose striker Danny Toronczak to Harrogate Railway where the frontman's good friend, former Halifax striker Micky Norbury, is now number two.

But Brier has brought in former Railway, Garforth and Wakefield frontman Graham Marchant, who was at Nostell last season, as a replacement.

The club have also signed two goalkeepers - Lee Ashforth and Andy Woods.

Ashforth, who is the Football Community Development Officer at Halifax Town, has previously played for Guiseley, Harrogate Railway, Glasshoughton, Buxton, Liversedge and Thackley among others.

Woods was at the Shay in the club's first spell in the Conference and has also appeared for Oldham Athletic, Doncaster Rovers, Barrow, Scarborough, Northwich Victoria, Chester City, Farsley Celtic and more recently Wakefield.

Club skipper Andy Markham, who has been sidelined since February with a knee injury, is expected to be available before Christmas.

Brighouse open their pre-season campaign at home to Halifax Town on Saturday.
